Now that elliptic curves and the Elliptic Curve Discrete Logarithm Problem have been introduced, this section of the classroom explains how they are used to form an Elliptic Curve Encryption Scheme (ECES). An encryption scheme is the primary function of a cryptosystem. A background understanding in information security is recommended for this section. Through out this section, an example of two users named Alice and Bob are used to illustrate the workings of a simple ECES. |
